Hollyland Pyro 7 :: 7-inch Wireless On-Camera Monitor, Transmitter and Receiver
The Hollyland Pyro 7 combines a professional 7-inch touchscreen field monitor, wireless video transmitter and wireless receiver in one versatile unit.
It supports 4K UHD HDMI input and loop-through at up to 30p, making it compatible with 4K camera outputs while maintaining a 4K signal for another connected device. The built-in wireless system transmits video at up to Full HD 1080p60, while the monitor itself has a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels.
Designed for professional film, television, livestreaming and commercial production, the Pyro 7 offers reliable dual-band wireless transmission, low latency and a comprehensive range of monitoring tools.
One Transmitter to Four Receivers
In Broadcast mode, one Pyro transmitter can send video to as many as four compatible Pyro receivers simultaneously. This makes it suitable for productions where the director, camera crew, focus puller and client all require separate monitoring.
The maximum line-of-sight range in Broadcast mode is approximately 200m.
With Broadcast mode switched off, the transmitter can connect to up to two receivers and two mobile devices, with a maximum line-of-sight range of approximately 400m.
Actual transmission range will vary depending on obstacles, interference and the surrounding environment.
Fast Two-Camera Switching
When used as a receiver with two compatible Pyro transmitters, the Pyro 7 can quickly switch between two camera feeds using its customisable shortcut buttons.
This allows a director or camera operator to move between two paired camera signals in less than one second without manually reconnecting the monitor.
Please note that this is fast switching between camera feeds rather than simultaneous split-screen monitoring. The feature requires Broadcast mode and matching video resolutions and frame rates.
Dual-Band Wireless Transmission
The Pyro 7 operates across both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
Hollyland’s Auto Dual-Band Hopping technology continuously scans for interference and automatically selects a clearer wireless channel. This helps maintain a stable connection in busy production environments where multiple wireless devices may be operating.
The system provides a line-of-sight transmission range of up to 400m and transmission latency as low as approximately 60ms under suitable conditions.
Smooth and HD Transmission Modes
Smooth Mode
Smooth Mode dynamically adjusts the video bitrate to prioritise transmission stability and achieve the lowest possible latency over longer distances.
HD Mode
HD Mode prioritises image quality and maintains a video bitrate of approximately 8–12Mbps, providing a clear monitoring image while retaining a stable wireless connection.

Two customisable shortcut buttons provide quick access to frequently used tools or the two-camera switching function.
SD Card Recording
The Pyro 7 can record MP4 monitoring files directly to a standard SD card, with recording sessions of up to 40 minutes per file.
LUTs can be applied when exporting recorded video, and recordings can be organised into folders for easier file management.
The monitor also supports screenshots and image overlay, allowing reference images or previously captured frames to be compared with the current camera feed.
High-Brightness 7-inch Touchscreen
The high-brightness 7-inch touchscreen provides a clear monitoring image in both indoor and outdoor shooting environments.
Screen brightness can be adjusted to suit changing conditions, while the larger display makes it suitable for camera operation, directing, focus monitoring and client viewing.
HDMI and SDI Connectivity
The Pyro 7 features both HDMI and 3G-SDI connectivity.
In transmitter mode, it supports:
- HDMI input up to 4K/30
- HDMI loop-through up to 4K/30
- 3G-SDI input up to 1080p
- 3G-SDI loop-through up to 1080p
In receiver mode, it provides HDMI and 3G-SDI video outputs at up to 1080p.
Smart Channel Scan
When powered on, the Pyro 7 automatically selects a suitable wireless channel.
The Smart Channel Scan function also provides live information about channel congestion and interference, allowing users to manually select a clearer channel when required.
Preset Grouping and Pairing
Preset grouping allows compatible Pyro transmitters and receivers to be assigned to the same group for faster setup.
Once configured, devices within the group can pair automatically, reducing the need to repeat the complete pairing process each time the system is used.
RTMP Live Streaming
The Pyro 7 supports RTMP live streaming when operating in transmitter mode.
Using the HollyView app and a compatible USB wireless network adapter, the monitor can send video to supported livestreaming and conferencing platforms such as YouTube Live, Twitch, TikTok Live and Zoom.
Lightweight Magnesium-Aluminium Construction
The Pyro 7 is housed in a lightweight magnesium-aluminium alloy shell. This provides a strong and durable enclosure while also assisting with heat dissipation during extended use.
