Hollyland Pyro S TX/RX + Pyro 7 Wireless Director’s Monitor Kit

The Hollyland Pyro S TX/RX + Pyro 7 Wireless Director’s Monitor Kit provides a complete wireless monitoring solution for film, television, commercial and livestreaming productions.

The kit combines a Pyro S transmitter and receiver with the versatile Pyro 7 wireless monitor. This allows the camera signal to be received by the standalone Pyro S receiver while also providing a dedicated 7-inch wireless monitor for the director, camera operator or client.

The standalone receiver can be connected to a production monitor, video switcher or recording device using HDMI or 3G-SDI, while the Pyro 7 provides convenient handheld or stand-mounted monitoring elsewhere on set.

Two Wireless Receiving Destinations

With Broadcast mode enabled, the Pyro S transmitter can send the camera feed to both the included Pyro S receiver and the Pyro 7 monitor simultaneously.

This provides a flexible monitoring arrangement for productions requiring more than one viewing destination. For example, the Pyro S receiver can feed a larger client monitor or video switcher while the director monitors the same camera using the portable Pyro 7.

Additional compatible Pyro receivers can also be incorporated into the system when required.

Long-Range Wireless Transmission

The Pyro system uses both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands to provide reliable wireless video transmission in busy production environments.

Hollyland’s Auto Dual-Band Hopping technology monitors available frequencies and automatically selects a clearer channel when interference is detected.

The system offers a maximum line-of-sight transmission range of up to 400m with Broadcast mode disabled. When Broadcast mode is enabled for multiple receivers, the maximum line-of-sight range is approximately 200m.

Actual range will vary depending on obstacles, wireless interference and the surrounding environment.

UHD 4K and Full HD Support

The Pyro S supports wireless UHD 4K video transmission through HDMI at up to 30p. It also supports 3G-SDI video signals at up to 1080p60.

The Pyro 7 features a 1920 × 1200 touchscreen display and can receive Full HD wireless video for clear and detailed on-set monitoring.

Low-Latency Monitoring

With transmission latency as low as approximately 50–60ms under suitable conditions, the system provides responsive monitoring for directing, camera operation, client viewing and general video production.

Smooth mode prioritises low latency and connection stability, while HD mode prioritises image quality with a video bitrate of approximately 8–12Mbps.

7-inch Wireless Director’s Monitor

The Pyro 7 combines a high-brightness 7-inch touchscreen monitor with an integrated wireless transmitter and receiver.

When used as part of this kit, it operates as a portable wireless receiver-monitor. It can be handheld, mounted on a monitor stand or incorporated into a director’s monitor cage.

SD Card Recording

The Pyro 7 can record MP4 monitoring files directly to a standard SD card, with individual recording sessions of up to 40 minutes.

It also supports screenshots, playback, folder organisation and LUT application during video export.

Please note that these are lightweight monitoring recordings rather than replacements for the camera’s original high-quality files.

HDMI and SDI Connectivity

The Pyro S transmitter accepts both HDMI and 3G-SDI camera signals.

The standalone Pyro S receiver provides HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs for connection to production monitors, video switchers, recorders and other compatible equipment.

The Pyro 7 also features HDMI and 3G-SDI connectivity, allowing it to function as a conventional wired monitor or wireless transceiver when required.
